The hotel was located close enough to country park right behind cabin as well as nature. The bathroom was good, and the room itself was well furnished. The location of the property was quiet, in the middle of the city. Also, Colchester Castle Park was 3 km away from the property.

The value for money at this B&B was excellent, with a spacious and beautifully decorated room. The location was great, situated near the countryside but still close to town. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome throughout our stay.
The breakfast option could benefit from a wider variety of hot dishes.

the warmth of the wood and tasteful furnishings made it feel cozy and inviting. the comfortable bed ensured a good night's sleep, and Sue, our welcoming host, brought us a delicious breakfast each morning. the cabin had all the amenities we needed, including a fridge and microwave. It was also conveniently located near the center of town, yet nestled next to the countryside, providing a peaceful and natural setting. Sue and her husband Dave were incredibly helpful and down to earth, making our stay pleasant and enjoyable. We highly recommend this property. Cons: Absolutely nothing! 😊.

The room at Shrublands Garden Cabin was absolutely adorable! It had a cozy, rustic feel that made me feel right at home. The electric kettle was a nice touch and made it easy to enjoy a hot cup of tea in the evenings. Plus, the kitchenware meant I could whip up a quick snack whenever I wanted. The bathrobe provided that extra touch of luxury, making me feel pampered during my stay.
I personally found the absence of free toiletries in the bathroom a bit disappointing. However, I understand that this might not bother everyone, and some guests might prefer to bring their own toiletries anyway.

our second stay in colchester at a charming and cozy cabin exceeded all expectations. sue and dave truly go above and beyond as hosts, providing every little thing you could possibly need. the breakfast was absolutely outstanding, and the attention to detail in the cabin's furnishings and amenities was delightful. we especially loved meeting beethoven, the friendly giant tortoise in the garden. highly recommended!
Could benefit from more privacy screening between cabin and main house.

The cabin had a nice terrace and a kettle, perfect for my daily tea fix. The nearest airport was conveniently far enough not to disturb my peace. The continental breakfast was there every day, because who needs surprises? Also, a garden and parking, just what I was looking for.
Oh, but of course, the lack of a Wi-Fi connection made me enjoy the peace and quiet of nature even more. How delightful!
